According to Euronews, a Brussels-based organization specializing in transport and the environment estimates that rising fuel prices for road transport have cost the EU approximately €53 billion since the start of the Iran-Iraq War. The report states that about €40 billion of this additional cost comes from diesel. The rising fuel prices in the road transport sector add an average of €270 million to transport costs per day, with €203 million from diesel and €67 million from gasoline.
