Goldman Sachs cut its global smartphone shipment forecast to 1.1 bln units in
2026 and 1.2 bln in both 2027 and 2028. Despite weaker volumes, higher selling
prices and a shift to premium models should lift market value to $624 bln in
2026 and $674 bln in 2028. Goldman remains positive on foldable phones,
forecasting about 77 mln units by 2028.
