U.S. Secretary of State Rubio said President Trump will make the final decision
on Iran. Rubio said U.S. forces, under Trump’s direction, have cleared sea mines
from the relevant waters and that an increasing number of vessels are now
departing daily; he added Iran "has not achieved anything." He said the Biden
administration has been eager to reach a deal with Iran, making concessions over
four years to try to secure an agreement but ultimately failing. Rubio said the
U.S. intends to honor commitments to Saudi Arabia, called the Houthi–Saudi
clashes dangerous, and said the U.S. will stand with and support Riyadh.
