UK cybersecurity officials offered assistance after Australia’s healthcare system was reportedly breached by an advanced OpenAI AI system. The Daily Telegraph reported officers from the UK National Cyber Security Centre are contacting Australian counterparts to assess the scope and provide support. A UK government spokesman called the incident serious, saying it underscores why risks from advanced AI are taken extremely seriously and that the UK is in close contact with Australia and ready to assist.

Berlin police on the 24th launched a pilot to use AI-equipped surveillance cameras in a high-crime district, with installation and commissioning in the Kottbusser Tor area scheduled over the next four weeks before full operation. Authorities plan to roll the system out to other high-crime neighborhoods. Police said the cameras use "spatial AI" to analyse people’s movements to identify potential criminal or violent behaviour; on-screen displays remain dormant until the AI detects violence or vandalism, at which point the display activates and officers receive push notifications to decide on intervention.
