A federal judge blocked key provisions of President Trump’s executive order that
sought to have federal agencies compile a list of persons deemed eligible to
vote and to impose new limits on mail ballots ahead of the November midterm
elections. The ruling is one of several court setbacks for the administration
this week, and comes as Trump faces intra-party friction after Republicans
failed to pass federal legislation requiring proof of citizenship to vote.
