rising 1.0% to fresh record highs, while the Dow added 0.7%. Gains were led by
technology shares as investors focused on earnings momentum. Oil prices fell,
with Brent and WTI dropping over 3% as a US-Iran ceasefire appeared to hold
despite regional tensions. Markets also digested a wider US trade deficit of
$60.3 billion and JOLTS data showing job openings were little changed in March.
