Chile annual CPI accelerated to 4.5% YoY in October, matching the highest since
April 2025 and slightly below the Bloomberg median of 4.6%. CPI rose 0.5% MoM.
Transport costs were up 2% MoM, energy +2.7% MoM, food and non‑alcoholic
beverages +1%; clothing fell 4.1% MoM, according to the National Statistics
Institute. The Central Bank of Chile has kept its policy rate at 4.5%
year‑to‑date, but officials have discussed possible rate hikes as the Middle
East conflict and extreme weather add upward price pressure, raising the
prospect of a policy shift.
