Omdia says rising component costs and heightened geopolitical uncertainty are prompting a structural shift in the global smartphone market, with leading vendors moving away from low-cost, high-volume models toward higher-end, higher-value portfolios. Omdia forecasts 2026 global smartphone shipments will fall 12.2% YoY to 1.093 bln units, roughly 152 mln fewer than 2025, while total market value is expected to rise 6.1% YoY. Average selling price is projected to climb from $467 in 2025 to $565 in 2026.

JD.com and Magic Atom signed a strategic cooperation agreement to commercialize embodied intelligent robots in consumer products and targeted scenarios, including education, inspection and guidance. The firms will build a full-life-cycle partnership covering R&D, product incubation, scenario deployment, channel sales and service operations, and will jointly invest in products, supply chain and other resources, aiming to achieve 1 bln yuan of Magic Atom-branded sales on JD's platform during the partnership.
