Wang welcomed US‑Iran follow‑up consultations on the memorandum of understanding, launched with assistance from Pakistan and Qatar, and called for agreement on the next negotiation mechanism. He said China, as Iran’s comprehensive strategic partner, supports efforts that facilitate peace, safeguards Iranian sovereignty and security, and improvement of Tehran’s ties with Gulf and regional states, and is willing to continue providing assistance to help restore regional stability. Nezamipour briefed Wang on the Middle East situation and progress in US‑Iran talks, thanked China for urging de‑escalation, urged Beijing to help ensure implementation of the Phase‑I MOU, and said Iran is willing to deepen bilateral contacts at all levels, strengthen mutual support, expand cooperation and coordinate within BRICS and other multilateral frameworks to address shared challenges.
