CENTCOM said at the direction of the US president, US forces have begun further
strikes on Iranian targets to degrade Iran’s ability to threaten freedom of
navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. The statement said Iran recently carried out
“unjustified attacks” on commercial vessels and civilian mariners in the
waterway and that the US will hold those responsible accountable.
