Iraq foreign minister Hussein said current developments suggest the Middle East could again erupt into war. He said Iraq has lost about $60 billion after oil exports via the Strait of Hormuz were halted; following an agreement with the US and Iran Iraq has resumed oil exports through the strait. Hussein said the US has formally requested closure of all Iraq–Iran land border crossings except two crossings.
