Elon Musk said Tesla will begin gradually cutting Cybertruck output at its Texas plant from mid‑2027 to free capacity for expanded Cybercab production. The Cybertruck, built near Austin since 2023, has struggled with weak demand and multiple recalls. Musk’s Friday social‑media post did not specify whether Cybertruck output would move to other plants or be discontinued. Tesla began producing a gold two‑seat Cybercab at the Austin plant this year, a robotaxi‑focused model central to Tesla’s stated pivot toward AI products, including humanoid robots.
