Russia presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said a trilateral Russia–US–Ukraine meeting could take place in the near term but offered no details. He made the remark after the US proposed a technical-level tripartite meeting in the UAE and said the matter was discussed during a recent Putin–Trump call. Peskov also confirmed that presidential special envoy Dmitriev will visit the United States and is engaging with US negotiating counterparts Witkoff and Kushner on potential economic interactions.

On the morning of Sept. 24 at the White House, President Xi Jinping said China and U.S. economic and trade teams held a new round of consultations and reached a new joint arrangement, which he described as positive for both countries' industries, consumers and the global economy. Xi said stabilising China-U.S. economic ties requires expanding the cooperation agenda and narrowing the list of outstanding issues; maintaining equality, mutual respect and reciprocity will enable solutions. He said he hopes both sides will move toward each other, adhere to a win‑win orientation, and help bilateral economic and trade relations continue to stabilise and improve.
