Russia's central bank gold and foreign exchange reserves for the week to Sept. 18 were $748.2 bln, down from $758.2 bln the previous week.

Gold was muted around $4,300/oz as markets priced further Fed tightening. NY gold futures were flat at $4,316.30, weighed by a stronger dollar and US Treasury yields at multi‑year highs. Mitsubishi UFJ analysts said Fed officials remain hawkish and Fed board member Barr indicated further tightening may be needed. With markets pricing in at least three more hikes by April, elevated yields and persistent energy‑driven inflation are major headwinds for gold.
