A former DeepMind researcher is seeking funding for an AI inference startup, market sources said.

Deloitte China says Jan–Sep A-share market saw 122 IPOs raising 212.3 bln yuan, versus 78 IPOs raising 77.2 bln yuan in the same period last year — new listings +56%, funds raised +175%. About 70 IPOs raised 69.3 bln yuan in 1H, with the remaining 52 completed in Q3, signalling a step-up in issuance pace. Six mega listings from AI and robotics firms accounted for a large share of the fundraising surge. Deloitte attributes the momentum to ongoing market reforms, materially faster regulatory approvals and strategic support under the national 15th Five-Year Plan, and says these factors alongside large new listings should lift full-year 2026 A-share market performance above 2025.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said the current state of artificial intelligence "requires extra caution".
