San Francisco city attorney David Chiu on Sept. 21 sued Trump Media in state
court seeking to halt Truth Social’s paid “Truth API” service, which charges up
to $100,000 per month for customers to receive presidential and other accounts’
posts fractions of a second early. The suit says the service could let wealthy
traders manipulate markets and exclude ordinary investors; Chiu added Truth
Social is selling early access while restricting public access for some news
outlets. Trump Media announced Truth API on July 17; Trump has posted thousands
of messages on the platform, sometimes dozens a day.
