US Secretary of State Rubio said the US will continue measures to keep the
Strait of Hormuz open after Iran fired on commercial vessels earlier that day.
He said reaching an agreement with Iran will take hard work and time; Tuesday’s
talks were mainly exchanges of ideas and information, constructive but without a
breakthrough. Negotiations are being blocked by the leadership of the Islamic
Revolutionary Guard Corps, Rubio added. He said President Trump retains a range
of response options, including military measures, and warned any action on Iran
would carry a cost.
