Hong Kong stocks closed lower on light volume. The Hang Seng Index fell 1.01% to 24,834.12 after sliding below the 25,000 mark in the afternoon and dropping nearly 300 points intraday. The Hang Seng TECH Index lost 1.33% to 4,379.07. Market turnover was HKD 184.31 bln, down from HKD 249.21 bln a session earlier. Sector action: innovative-drug names outperformed; China property stocks led gains; semiconductors opened higher then faded; internet and AI-app sectors underperformed.
