China A-shares opened higher then weakened, with pre-holiday market volume noticeably below average. At the close the Shanghai Composite fell 0.39%, the Shenzhen Composite Index fell 0.64% and the ChiNext index fell 0.60%. Combined turnover on Shanghai and Shenzhen exceeded 1.7 trillion yuan and more than 3,500 stocks fell. Sector action: CROs, BC batteries and PCB stocks outperformed; PET copper-foil names opened strong and climbed; real estate and baijiu briefly strengthened intraday. Underperformers included coal mining and processing, cinema chains, culture/media and oil & gas exploration and services.
