After an initial gap higher, China A-share indexes slid into negative territory by the midday close. Shanghai Composite -0.36%, Shenzhen Composite -0.58%, ChiNext -0.43%. Combined turnover on the two exchanges topped CNY1.1 tln; more than 3,500 stocks fell. Glass substrate and PET copper-foil sectors led gains and CRO-related names were active. Property stocks spiked then reversed. Cinema, media and cultural names underperformed; coal was among the largest decliners.
