Preliminary shipping data from Kpler show three commercial vessels transited the
Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday, down from four the previous day and well below the
roughly 15-vessel 10-day average. The three vessels, including one Panamax
tanker, were recorded outbound. Kpler also reported the LNG tanker Al Mafyar —
listed as ballast — reappeared inside the strait on Tuesday after last being
tracked outside the waterway on Sept. 19. Separately, 22 commercial vessels
transited the Bab al-Mandeb on Tuesday: 14 bound for the Red Sea and eight for
the Gulf of Aden. The convoy comprised five Panamax tankers, six supramaxes,
four Aframaxes, one Suezmax and one VLCC, down from a 10-day average of 26.
