They said the comments are not grounded in battlefield reality and, amid what they described as US military exhaustion, raising baseless accusations and threats does not signal strength but "reflects a strategic dilemma". The statement added the president's rhetoric will not change the balance of power or compensate for US decline in the new world order or its failures against Iran and the Axis of Resistance.

The Saudi energy ministry said on the 22nd (local time) it did not buy 25 tankers and called Iraq’s claim that Saudi purchases pushed up Iraqi crude shipping costs false. The ministry said the sharp rise in crude transport costs reflects regional tensions, disruptions to shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and higher shipping risk and insurance premiums, not Saudi tanker purchases.
