U.S. Vice President Vance said the U.S. has significantly degraded Iran's asymmetric military capabilities.

CENTCOM said on Aug. 8 that US naval personnel conducted maintenance on F/A-18 Super Hornets aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln to keep the carrier strike group combat-ready, and that US forces have forced 53 merchant vessels to alter course, rendered two vessels unseaworthy, boarded and inspected two vessels, and allowed more than 30 vessels carrying humanitarian aid to transit the blockade as it continues strict maritime enforcement against Iran.
