Typhoon Bavi, the ninth typhoon of the year, was about 489 km off the Wenzhou coast at 09:00 on July 11 with maximum winds near the center at force 14 (strong typhoon). Bavi is forecast to move northwest at 30–35 km/h and make landfall around midnight on July 11 between Cangnan and Sanmen in Zhejiang, then continue northwest turning north; it will bring severe wind, heavy rain, high waves and storm surge to Zhejiang on July 11–12. Zhejiang provincial flood-control authorities raised the typhoon emergency response to Level I at 11:00 on July 11 and ordered local governments to monitor the situation and implement contingency measures, including declaring an emergency flood-control period and, if necessary, suspending outdoor gatherings, work, classes, commercial operations, transport and closing roads.

Sources told Iran's Fars news agency that Iran will not enter any negotiations until the US withdraws its position.
