Under guidance from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s Information and Communications Administration, the Industrial Internet Industry Alliance has launched a satellite communications working group in Beijing. The group aims to build an industry cooperation platform, accelerate R&D on core satellite communications technologies, promote non‑terrestrial network (NTN) innovation, and cultivate an open, shared satellite communications industry ecosystem to support China’s manufacturing, aerospace, telecommunications and digitalisation objectives.

OpenAI said it will stop development of its AI browser Atlas on Aug. 9 and will fold some Atlas features into the ChatGPT desktop app and a Chrome extension. The decision comes less than a year after OpenAI launched ChatGPT Atlas in Oct. 2025 and abandons its plan to offer a standalone AI browser to challenge Chrome; competitors including Perplexity (Comet) and The Browser Company (Dia) continue pursuing AI browser products.
