Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on July 9 Moscow is fully clear on how it
will respond after the US moved to license Ukraine to produce Patriot
interceptor missiles and that the Russian government has taken all necessary
measures to protect national interests. He said Moscow views the US belief that
escalation and military pressure can promote a settlement as mistaken and
accused Washington of a double standard by supplying weapons while seeking a
peace process, urging genuine US efforts toward a peaceful resolution. Peskov
added that, despite disagreements, a constructive channel of presidential
dialogue remains open.
