China's State Council issued the "15th Five-Year" Carbon Peak Action Plan. It
targets a 17% reduction in CO2 emissions per unit of GDP from 2025 levels by
2030 and a rise in non‑fossil energy's share of consumption to 25% by 2030. The
plan aims to ensure China reaches carbon peak on schedule and to lay a
foundation for meeting the country's 2035 nationally determined contribution and
advancing carbon neutrality.
