At the close on the 8th, NYMEX August-delivery light, sweet crude (WTI) futures rose $3.08 to $73.52/bbl, up 4.37%. London Brent September futures rose $3.86 to $78.02/bbl, up 5.2%.

On July 8, in response to hail damage in Hubei, the Office of the National Committee for Disaster Prevention, Mitigation and Relief, the Ministry of Emergency Management and the National Food and Strategic Reserves Administration allocated 20,000 central relief items to the province — folding beds, summer quilts, towels, moisture-proof mats, folding tables and stools, and household emergency kits — to support resettlement and basic living needs. Via the emergency supplies government–charity coordination mechanism, major charities including the China Red Cross Society, China Charity Federation, China Rural Development Foundation and China Red Cross Foundation coordinated donations of 40,000 life-support items, including family relief packs, jackets, emergency food, drinking water and hot meals. Authorities also coordinated One Foundation and others to support repair and reconstruction of damaged schools and to oversee resettlement and recovery work.

Iran's foreign ministry said the United States bears responsibility for the dangerous consequences of this escalation, calling the U.S. regime treacherous.
