NATO announced a package of arms purchases and defence investments during its summit, including a plan to spend more than $40bn over the next five years on counter‑UAV capabilities and to increase trained drone operators fivefold by end‑2027. Secretary‑General Rutte urged member governments and Western defence firms to expand investment and boost industrial capacity. Procurement details include Denmark, Finland, Germany and Norway buying unmanned systems from Northrop Grumman and 11 members acquiring Saab’s GlobalEye airborne early‑warning aircraft.
