Shanghai municipal government issued a rural revitalization plan that
prioritizes corporate-led agricultural technology innovation. The plan backs
agri-tech firms to partner with high-end equipment and AI companies on industry
application–driven integrated innovation and to develop several nationally
influential agricultural tech application scenarios. It calls for social capital
to establish 3–5 new R&D institutions, aims to facilitate a new wave of
agriculture-sector listings, and seeks to nurture firms in biological breeding,
agricultural biomanufacturing and modern facility agriculture.
