PBOC'S PAN said in Hong Kong that multi-currency issuance (HKD, USD, EUR, JPY) developed steadily over the past year. Dim sum bond outstanding has surpassed 2 tln yuan, the issuer base has broadened and market liquidity has improved.

Hong Kong Monetary Authority chief Eddie Yue said the HKMA will expand renminbi funding arrangements on July 10, adding 9-month, 2-year and 3-year tenors. He said the HKMA is studying a 7-day offshore renminbi liquidity tender mechanism and the possibility of issuing offshore renminbi short-term debt instruments.

China said it will provide additional assistance to Venezuela after the earthquake, adding a RMB 100 mln emergency grant to earlier hard-currency aid. The Chinese Red Cross has provided USD 300,000 in emergency funds. A first chartered shipment of more than 80 tonnes of government relief—generators, water-purification vehicles, tents and blankets—has arrived in Venezuela. China has supplied satellite imagery of the affected areas, and Chinese firms and expatriate communities in Venezuela have provided machinery and food. China said it remains willing to offer further support as the situation develops; President Xi Jinping sent a condolence message to Acting President Rodríguez.
