Samsung Electronics reported preliminary Q2 results: revenue 171 trillion won, below consensus 173.9 trillion won; Q1 revenue was 133.9 trillion won, year-ago 74.6 trillion won. Q2 operating profit 89.4 trillion won, above consensus 87.3 trillion won; Q1 operating profit 57.2 trillion won, year-ago 4.7 trillion won.

After the U.S. market reopened from a holiday, U.S. Treasury yields were mixed and the dollar edged higher as Middle East peace talks remain unresolved and last week’s labor data disappointed. OPEC+ agreed to boost output, weighing on oil prices. Fed minutes are due Wednesday and the economic calendar is light this week. The dollar index was up 0.2%. The 10-year Treasury yield traded at 4.459%, above last Thursday’s close of 4.447%. The two-year yield fell to 4.108% from 4.130%.

Citigroup said in a research note it has added Geely Automobile (00175.HK) to its "Pan-Asia Focus List", citing a breakthrough in premium brand Zeekr’s sales, strong export momentum and a more attractive risk-reward profile versus peers. The bank rates Geely Buy with a PT of HK$30 and an expected dividend yield of 4%.
