South Korea's finance ministry said on Monday it will advance regulatory reform
to speed AI deployment across the services sector to boost competitiveness.
Finance Minister Koo Yun-cheol discussed specific measures with related
ministries and noted services account for about 60% of GDP. "The services sector
is undergoing a profound AI-driven transformation, accelerating integration with
manufacturing, driving public service innovation and fundamentally changing
daily life," he said. The ministry said it will quickly introduce measures to
allow AI agents to be tested across the full shopping process, will provide
policy support for urban air mobility and autonomous-driving services, and will
deploy AI in tax and other administrative services.
