The U.S. Department of Justice said Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche wrote
to International Criminal Court President Tomoko Akane rejecting ICC
jurisdiction over U.S. persons. The DOJ reiterated the U.S. is not a party to
the Rome Statute and has never recognized ICC jurisdiction, and said it will not
cooperate with ICC investigations, inquiries, summonses or prosecutions nor
extradite or surrender any U.S. personnel to the court.
