China A-shares traded higher at midday: ChiNext Index was up 1.58% at the
half-day mark after an intraday high above 2%, while the Sci‑Tech Innovation 50
Index initially fell nearly 2% before rallying to more than 2% intraday.
Shanghai Composite rose 0.69% and the Shenzhen Composite Index rose 1.39%;
turnover across the two exchanges exceeded 2 trillion yuan. The precious metals
sector outperformed, with Zhaojin Gold and Chifeng Gold posting second-straight
limit-ups. Humanoid robotics and defense equipment stocks also surged, with
multiple names hitting daily limits. Fluorochemicals plunged; gaming pulled
back, and glass substrates and organosilicon stocks were among the largest
decliners.
