Saudi Arabia has increased shipments following a temporary US–Iran peace accord, dispatching four Bahri-owned VLCCs into the Gulf of Oman on Thursday after loading at Ras Tanura, ship-tracking data show. The departures are the largest outbound volume since the ceasefire took effect about two weeks ago; Bloomberg-tracked data show the four tankers are carrying roughly 8.0 mln barrels from Ras Tanura, one of the world’s biggest crude export terminals.

ING's Chris Turner said EUR/USD may extend recent weakness in coming weeks before rebounding later this year. He said falling energy prices are supportive for the euro, but market pricing of US rate hikes will be the dominant theme this summer; if markets price a 50bp US hike for this year, the euro could attempt to break below 1.1300. Turner added that ING currently judges the Fed will not raise rates and expects EUR/USD to return to 1.16–1.18 in November–December.

At the 2026 Nanjing Software Conference, the Fifth Electronics Research Institute of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology launched a working group to establish a domestic AI hardware‑software collaborative innovation ecosystem. The group, led by the MIIT institute and joined by the CAS Institute of Software, CAS Institute of Computing Technology, Beijing Academy of Artificial Intelligence, Sugon, Kunlunxin, Suiyuan Technology and SenseTime, will unite industry, academia, research and users across the full chain to address key coordination shortfalls in China’s AI industry.
