The IEA's Global EV Outlook 2026 projects 23 mln electric vehicle sales in 2026, about 30% of global new-car sales versus roughly 5% five to six years ago. The report forecasts regional EV sales growth of roughly +20% in Europe, more than +50% in non-China Asia-Pacific and +45% in Latin America. IEA Executive Director Fatih Birol said the global EV market has entered a new phase of accelerated growth.
