Large-model specialist Sun Tianxiang has joined Baidu as head of the Basic Model R&D Unit (BMU) and joined the Baidu Model Committee (BMC). His track record—from developing MOSS and proposing MaaS to subsequent entrepreneurship—is highly aligned with Baidu’s strategic investment in foundation models.

ANTHROPIC said on Tuesday it is launching Claude Science, software designed to help scientists automate research and reduce repetitive tasks. The tool can automate a range of biology and chemistry workflows, including protein-structure prediction, and aggregates commonly used scientific tools and more than 60 scientific databases. ANTHROPIC said the product lets users execute multi-step tasks and query in natural language without consulting multiple separate sources. Claude Science will be offered as a beta to ANTHROPIC’s paying customers.
