The Russian government on June 30 ordered the temporary closure, effective July
1, of multiple rail border crossings with Latvia, Finland and Estonia, according
to a document posted on Russia’s official legal portal. The closures include the
St. Petersburg–Finland and Vyborg rail crossings and three additional
Russia–Finland crossings, plus one Russia–Estonia and one Russia–Latvia rail
crossing. From July 1 the listed crossings will suspend all passage of people,
vehicles, goods and cargo. The government gave no reason for the closures.
