At the invitation of CHINA FOREIGN MINISTER Wang Yi, Austria’s foreign minister visited China June 22-26. It was the minister’s first trip since taking office; both sides held in-depth exchanges on bilateral, regional and international issues and agreed to sustain high-level contact and strengthen strategic dialogue. Beijing welcomed Austria’s rational, pragmatic China policy and urged Vienna to continue playing a constructive role in China‑EU relations.

On June 25 a U.S. federal judge in Boston, Indira Talwani, enjoined President Trump’s executive order aimed at tightening mail‑in voting, preventing it from taking effect before the November election that will decide control of Congress.
