President Nausėda on the evening of the 25th nominated Social Democratic chairman Mindaugas Sinkevičius as candidate for prime minister. Parliament is scheduled to vote on the new government on the 30th. The Ruginienė government resigned on the 23rd and is serving in a caretaker capacity. Under Lithuanian law the new PM is proposed by the Social Democratic Party, which holds the largest number of seats in parliament.

Invest Hong Kong said at a June 25 welcome event that since January it has assisted 413 overseas and mainland China firms to set up or expand operations in Hong Kong. Those projects are expected to bring more than HKD53 bln of inbound direct investment, up 36% YoY, and create over 8,600 new jobs. Invest Hong Kong said it will continue flexible, proactive incentive measures and leverage the Northern Metropolis development to attract supply chains and industries that support Hong Kong’s high-quality economic growth.
