The regulations remove remaining EU tariffs on US industrial goods; introduce tariff quotas and tariff reductions to grant preferential access for certain US seafood and non-sensitive agricultural products; and extend the suspension of duties on lobster imports, including processed lobster, imported on an MFN basis from all countries. Both regulations have been signed and will be published in the Official Journal and take effect the day after publication. The main regulation will cease to apply at end-2029.

Four people said on Wednesday that despite opposition from some U.S. lawmakers the Trump administration plans to move forward with a sale of dozens of jet engines to Turkey worth several hundred million dollars. The deal, seen as a goodwill gesture ahead of next month’s NATO summit in Turkey, involves GE-made engines intended for Turkey’s first indigenous fighter, KAAN, a program launched in 2016 as part of Ankara’s drive for defense autonomy. One source said the transaction would exceed $700m.
