On June 23, MOFCOM assistant minister Zhang Li met with Saudi International
Power and Water Co. chairman Abunayyan to discuss expanding contracted
engineering projects and two-way investment. Zhang encouraged Saudi firms to
leverage opportunities under China’s 15th Five-Year Plan to increase investment
and called for deeper collaboration in new energy, power and seawater
desalination. Abunayyan said the company will strengthen ties with Chinese firms
and pursue additional projects and bilateral investments to advance trade ties.
