MOFCOM and eight ministries issued measures to boost China’s auto after-market
consumption, calling for a multi-tier auto-racing ecosystem—flagship
international events, professional series and grassroots experience races. The
notice aims to leverage the new-energy vehicle (NEV) industry to cultivate
competitive domestic NEV racing brands and strengthen IP protection. It directs
support for reform pilot cities to tailor the introduction of international auto
races, streamline race-vehicle import/export procedures and models, and promote
localized event operations and innovation. The measures also call for creating
national-level auto-sport consumption venues and upgrading venue facilities,
technical services and event-operation capabilities.
