Wang called for stronger China–Russia coordination to expand the BRICS mechanism as a platform for multilateralism and to make BRICS the leading bloc of the Global South; he urged a BRICS security dialogue to forge consensus, jointly address security challenges, safeguard China–Russia and neighborhood security, and inject more certainty into a turbulent world, making more "BRICS contributions." Shoigu said Moscow seeks deeper mutual trust and closer cooperation with Beijing amid a major global realignment, pledged to jointly resist external interference in the security sphere, and opposed Japan's "remilitarization" plans. He said Russia is willing to increase strategic coordination with China within BRICS and other multilateral forums to help maintain regional and global peace and stability. The two exchanged views on other international and regional issues.

On June 22, Israeli national security minister and far-right politician Ben-Gvir threatened Lebanon, saying if Israel's security is threatened "Beirut will become like Beit Hanoun in the Gaza Strip." He warned that if Lebanon allows its territory to be used as a base to attack Israel, Beirut "will not function normally" and "those who choose to go to war with Israel will bear the consequences."
