Joint Maritime Information Centre (JMIC) downgraded the maritime security threat level for the Strait of Hormuz to "Medium".

The Democratic Republic of Congo health ministry said on the 21st (local time) the current Ebola outbreak has reached 1,003 confirmed cases, including 254 deaths. The ministry's latest social-media update shows 100 recoveries and 365 patients currently isolated or hospitalized. Contact-tracing coverage is 58%, below the health ministry's 95% target. Authorities are increasing contact tracing and investigations, intensifying community mobilization, and expanding case management and testing capacity.
