On June 21 Colombia is holding a presidential runoff between independent Avelardo de la Espriella of the far‑right Homeland Defenders grouping and Ivan Cepeda of the left‑wing Historic Pact coalition to choose the president for 2026–2030. Polls opened at 08:00 and close at 16:00 local time; counting begins immediately after and preliminary results are expected tonight. No candidate won a majority in the May 31 first round; under current rules the candidate with the most votes in the runoff will be elected.
