A source close to Iran’s negotiating team said at the Switzerland talks US officials and meeting organizers had planned a handshake and joint photo between Iranian and US delegations at the start of multilateral sessions. The source said the head of Iran’s delegation and the negotiating team opposed the arrangement and would not participate in a joint photo with the US delegation.

Iranian President Pezeshkian said in a televised video on June 21 that Iran will never give up its right to enrich uranium and that the U.S. will ultimately be forced to accept that right. He added that U.S. President Trump has made a 180-degree reversal — from demanding Iran’s unconditional surrender to acknowledging Iran’s rights — which Pezeshkian said shows Washington cannot ignore Iran’s entitlement.

Indian shipping minister Sarbananda Sonowal said on Saturday three Indian‑flagged tankers — Desh Vaibhav, Desh Vibhor and Sanmar Herald — have safely transited the Strait of Hormuz and are en route to India. The vessels are carrying more than 860,000 tonnes of oil and have 94 Indian crew aboard, he said on social media.
