US President Donald Trump said he will pause the US-led “Project Freedom” effort
to help ships exit the Strait of Hormuz to allow time for a potential agreement
with Iran to be finalized, citing “great progress” in talks. He said the
decision followed requests from Pakistan and other countries, though he gave no
details on negotiations. Trump added that the US blockade on shipping to and
from Iranian ports will remain in effect.
