xAI has sued the state of Colorado to block a new law requiring safeguards
against discrimination in AI-driven decisions, including employment. In a
federal complaint, xAI argued the law “severely burdens” AI development and
violates the First Amendment by forcing developers to embed the state’s
preferred views. The company said the measure compels speech and restricts
output on “controversial topics of great public concern.”
